La diversit\u00e9 de la pratique a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9e (Odin (dir.) 1999), son organisation sociale a \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9e, tout comme son \u00e9conomie (Creton 1999). Son utilisation comme source pour les historiens a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tablie (Ollivier 2000), et le mot \u00ab&#160;amateur&#160;\u00bb en lui-m\u00eame a \u00e9galement fait l&rsquo;objet d&rsquo;un examen critique (Stebbins 1992, Odin 1999, Bryan-Wilson et Piekut 2021). Cependant, comme les cam\u00e9ras accessibles aux amateurs \u00e9taient d\u00e9pourvues de dispositifs d\u2019enregistrement sonore jusqu&rsquo;aux ann\u00e9es 1970, on suppose g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement que leurs films \u00e9taient \u00e9galement muets. Liz Czach a notamment d\u00e9taill\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9chec de la cam\u00e9ra sonore 16mm RCA-Victor commercialis\u00e9e en 1935 (Czach 2018).<\/p>\n<p>Toutefois, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que les amateurs avaient une pratique de l\u2019enregistrement sonore riche et vari\u00e9e (Masson 2022). La \u00ab&#160;chasse au son&#160;\u00bb \u00e9tait un passe-temps vivant souvent pratiqu\u00e9 afin de fournir des bandes sonores pour les films. Les images et les sons \u00e9taient enregistr\u00e9s s\u00e9par\u00e9ment et jou\u00e9s s\u00e9par\u00e9ment lors des projections sur deux formats diff\u00e9rents (film pour les images, cylindre, disque, bande magn\u00e9tique, cassette pour le son). La proximit\u00e9 entre la chasse au son et le cin\u00e9ma amateur \u00e9tait \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sente au niveau organisationnel. Ainsi, les r\u00e8glements de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale des Chasseurs de Sons, fond\u00e9e en 1956, s&rsquo;inspir\u00e8rent de ceux de l&rsquo;UNICA, Union Internationale du Cin\u00e9ma Amateur, qui existait depuis 1931 (et existe encore aujourd&rsquo;hui), et une personnalit\u00e9 comme Jean Borel, professeur de l&rsquo;enseignement secondaire, fut en m\u00eame temps un personnage central du d\u00e9veloppement de la chasse au son en Suisse, un des premiers secr\u00e9taires de l\u2019UNICA, et l\u2019un des fondateurs de la Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que de Lausanne.<\/p>\n<p>Mais si des \u00e9tudes existent sur le cin\u00e9ma amateur (Zimmermann 1995, Shand 2008, Craven 2009, Turquety et Vignaux 2017) ainsi que sur l\u2019enregistrement sonore d\u2019amateur (Bijsterveld 2004, Masson 2020, Masson 2022)&#160;; le son des films amateurs a jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent \u00e9t\u00e9 peu \u00e9tudi\u00e9 (Wurlitzer 2012), et les liens entre cin\u00e9ma amateur et enregistrement sonore d\u2019amateur peu explor\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Ce colloque abordera plusieurs th\u00e8mes pour concilier les approches techniques, culturelles et archivistiques&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>le mat\u00e9riel&#160;: technique et pratique<\/li>\n<li>le son du cin\u00e9ma amateur&#160;: int\u00e9r\u00eat historique, esth\u00e9tique, sociologique, anthropologique<\/li>\n<li>les archives sonores du cin\u00e9ma amateur&#160;: archivistique, patrimoine et restauration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parmi les th\u00e9matiques qui pourront \u00eatre abord\u00e9es&#160;:<\/p>\n<p>Le son du cin\u00e9ma amateur&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>m\u00e9thodes, outils et pratiques pour enregistrer le son<\/li>\n<li>les disques, bandes et cassettes d\u2019effets sonores&#160;: histoire et utilisation<\/li>\n<li>histoire \u00e9conomique du cin\u00e9ma sonore amateur<\/li>\n<li>histoire du son direct<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La synchronisation son et image&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>quels proc\u00e9d\u00e9s pour quels r\u00e9sultats&#160;?<\/li>\n<li>m\u00e9thodes, outils et pratiques de la projection<\/li>\n<li>en France, les syst\u00e8mes et appareils Charles Vaast \u00e9taient couramment utilis\u00e9s par les amateurs pour synchroniser le son et l\u2019image, y en avaient-ils d\u2019autres&#160;? Et qu\u2019en est-il \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger&#160;?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lieux de pratique et de savoirs&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>o\u00f9 et comment se faisait l\u2019apprentissage du cin\u00e9ma amateur, notamment de son versant sonore&#160;?<\/li>\n<li>quels liens entre cin\u00e9-clubs, clubs d\u2019enregistrement, radio-clubs&#160;?<\/li>\n<li>les chasseurs de son fran\u00e7ais et suisses \u00e9taient r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement d\u00e9bauch\u00e9s pour des contrats \u00e0 la radio (Masson 2022). Qu\u2019en est-il des cin\u00e9astes amateurs&#160;? Existait-il des passerelles similaires avec la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision et le cin\u00e9ma&#160;?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Les enregistreurs sonores du cin\u00e9ma amateur&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>disque \u00e0 gravure directe, bande magn\u00e9tique, cassette&#160;: histoire des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s sonores, histoire des fabricants, histoire des supports<\/li>\n<li>y a-t-il des sources documentant l\u2019usage de phonographes \u00e0 cylindre pour produire du cin\u00e9ma amateur sonore&#160;?<\/li>\n<li>le 8mm magn\u00e9tique, le 16mm magn\u00e9tique et le 35mm magn\u00e9tique&#160;: mat\u00e9riel, performance, utilisation, fabricants, histoire<\/li>\n<li>les amateurs ont-ils \u00e9t\u00e9 eux-m\u00eames sources de d\u00e9veloppements technologiques&#160;?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La collecte de m\u00e9moire, de gestes et techniques, en son et en image&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00e0 partir de quel moment le besoin se fait-il sentir d\u2019ajouter de l\u2019image au son ou du son \u00e0 l\u2019image pour capter des r\u00e9cits, f\u00eates, \u00e9v\u00e8nements priv\u00e9s et publics&#160;? Ceux-ci apparaissent-ils diff\u00e9remment en fonction du m\u00e9dium qui les capte&#160;?<\/li>\n<li>L\u2019absence de synchronisation son-image peut conduire \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation d\u2019un commentaire illustrant, expliquant, les images. Existe-il des modalit\u00e9s particuli\u00e8res d\u2019\u00e9criture de commentaires (par exemple influenc\u00e9es par le documentaire professionnel ou par d\u2019\u00e9ventuels conseils d\u00e9livr\u00e9es dans les revues et manuels de cin\u00e9ma amateur&#160;?) Quels rapports ces commentaires entretiennent-ils avec les images enregistr\u00e9es&#160;?<\/li>\n<li>les amateurs comme collecteurs de l\u2019histoire locale.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Les archives sonores du cin\u00e9ma amateur&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>quels corpus pour le son du cin\u00e9ma amateur&#160;? En France, les cin\u00e9math\u00e8ques de r\u00e9gion sauvegardent de riches collections sonores. Y a-t-il d\u2019autres lieux de collecte et de sauvegarde&#160;? Qu\u2019en est-il \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger&#160;?<\/li>\n<li>les archives sonores du cin\u00e9ma amateur comme source pour la recherche en histoire, en sociologie, en anthropologie, en esth\u00e9tique, pour la cr\u00e9ation artistique.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La restauration des archives sonores du cin\u00e9ma amateur&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>le bruit, son importance et ses significations contextuelles et m\u00e9dia-r\u00e9f\u00e9rentielles.<\/li>\n<li>l\u2019influence des technologies et habitudes actuelles (d\u00e9finition et propret\u00e9 de l\u2019image, silence num\u00e9rique, largeur du spectre sonore, etc.), sur l\u2019appr\u00e9hension des films du pass\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>d\u00e9ontologie de la restauration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Outre les communications scientifiques, ce colloque comprendra des tables rondes avec des cin\u00e9astes et preneurs de son amateurs, de d\u00e9monstrations mat\u00e9rielles (projection, synchronisation, restauration), de projections de films sonores amateurs, de siestes sonores \u00e0 partir d\u2019archives sonores amateures.<\/p>\n<h2>Modalit\u00e9s de contribution<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Date limite de r\u00e9ception des propositions&#160;: 6 septembre 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Communication de 20&prime;, ou panels de 45&prime;.
