Ce clich\u00e9, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Rosalind Franklin, en fait une des chercheuses dont le travail ignor\u00e9 illustre l\u2019\u00ab&#160;effet Matilda&#160;\u00bb, th\u00e9oris\u00e9 par Margaret Rossiter au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1980<a name=\"_ednref1\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn1\">[i]<\/a>. Th\u00e9orie re-m\u00e9diatis\u00e9e depuis une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es, et particuli\u00e8rement depuis la fin des ann\u00e9es 2020 dans le sillon des d\u00e9bats autour de la valorisation du travail des femmes, elle permet de faire ressurgir et de valoriser des travaux et des figures oubli\u00e9es, mais \u00e9galement d\u2019engager de nouvelles recherches plus soucieuses d\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>En effet, les femmes sont impliqu\u00e9es dans la construction de la connaissance de diverses mani\u00e8res \u2014 en tant que praticiennes, th\u00e9oriciennes, consommatrices, historiennes, et en tant qu\u2019objets de repr\u00e9sentation<a name=\"_ednref2\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn2\">[ii]<\/a>. Pourtant leurs implications, pass\u00e9es et pr\u00e9sentes, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 et sont encore trop syst\u00e9matiquement ignor\u00e9es, ou disqualifi\u00e9es<a name=\"_ednref3\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn3\">[iii]<\/a>. Cons\u00e9quences directes de m\u00e9thodes historiographiques sp\u00e9cifiques et de logiques institutionnelles qui impliquent la s\u00e9lection, la classification et la hi\u00e9rarchisation des types d\u2019expertise, ces disqualifications entrainent des clivages dans les cat\u00e9gories de m\u00e9tiers, des styles et les modes de production, et la reconnaissance sociale.<\/p>\n<p>Les historiennes, th\u00e9oriciennes et praticiennes des sciences, des arts et du design se coordonnent \u00e0 travers des strat\u00e9gies d\u2019enseignement, l\u2019organisation de conf\u00e9rences, d\u2019expositions et dans des publications pour \u00e9largir la question&#160;: les coulisses de la recherche, des histoires oubli\u00e9es, et l\u2019actualit\u00e9 de relations dont les genres, les formes et les savoirs s\u2019articulent entre le design, les arts, et les m\u00e9dias.<\/p>\n<p>Au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1980, une approche f\u00e9ministe de l\u2019histoire du design, notamment port\u00e9e par Griselda Pollock avait \u00e9t\u00e9 mise \u00e0 l\u2019ordre du jour<a name=\"_ednref4\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn4\">[iv]<\/a>. Selon elle, une approche f\u00e9ministe n\u2019\u00e9tait ni une question secondaire ni une nouvelle perspective historique \u2014 il s\u2019agissait d\u2019en faire une pr\u00e9occupation centrale de l\u2019histoire du design contemporain<a name=\"_ednref5\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn5\">[v]<\/a>. Quarante ans plus tard, sommes-nous engag\u00e9es dans une course \u00e0 l\u2019occupation d\u2019un terrain \u00ab&#160;id\u00e9ologiquement strat\u00e9gique<a name=\"_ednref6\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn6\">[vi]<\/a>&#160;\u00bb&#160;?<\/p>\n<p>Alors que l\u2019histoire de l\u2019objectivit\u00e9 est fondamentale dans la construction des sciences exp\u00e9rimentales, et que d\u2019autres pratiques et savoirs se sont d\u00e9finies pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment en s\u2019en insurgeant, comment la notion d\u2019objectivit\u00e9 f\u00e9ministe est-elle n\u00e9e et employ\u00e9e dans les domaines de la cr\u00e9ation&#160;?<\/p>\n<p>Trois axes possibles de r\u00e9flexion sont propos\u00e9s&#160;:<\/p>\n<h2>Axe 1. \u00c9tudes de cas et historiographies du r\u00f4le des femmes entre sciences, art et design<\/h2>\n<p>La premi\u00e8re des approches propos\u00e9es est celle de l\u2019enrichissement de l\u2019histoire des contributions des femmes \u00e0 la recherche savante dans les sciences et les arts.<\/p>\n<p>Les historiens des arts, du design et de l\u2019architecture, ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e9galement \u00e0 renforcer la place des femmes dans la division sexuelle du travail. Reyner Banham, dans <em>Th\u00e9orie et design \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re industrielle<\/em>, a identifi\u00e9 deux sexes&#160;: les hommes et les femmes au foyer<a name=\"_ednref7\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn7\">[vii]<\/a>. Il y d\u00e9finit les femmes au foyer par une vie \u00ab&#160;transform\u00e9e par des machines contr\u00f4l\u00e9es par des femmes&#160;\u00bb, comme les aspirateurs, par exemple. Philippa Goodall cite le four \u00e0 micro-ondes et le cong\u00e9lateur comme des produits con\u00e7us ostensiblement pour all\u00e9ger les t\u00e2ches m\u00e9nag\u00e8res mais qui ont finalement cr\u00e9\u00e9 plus de travail que de temps libre<a name=\"_ednref8\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn8\">[viii]<\/a>. Les deux produits ont \u00e9t\u00e9 largement introduits dans la maison sous pr\u00e9texte de commodit\u00e9. La commodit\u00e9 pour la famille signifie avoir un acc\u00e8s rapide \u00e0 la nourriture \u00e0 tout moment, pratiquement comme s\u2019il s\u2019agissait pour la femme d\u2019accomplir son devoir.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis le milieu du XX<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle, de nombreuses femmes ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 faire \u00e9voluer la recherche, de la m\u00e9decine \u00e0 l\u2019informatique en passant par l\u2019environnement, la philosophie, la politique, l\u2019architecture, etc. Ces femmes scientifiques restent n\u00e9anmoins symboliques encore aujourd\u2019hui, \u00e9tant consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme des exceptions.<\/p>\n<p>De nombreux portraits ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s et la bibliographie importante, cependant qu\u2019en est-il des personnalit\u00e9s qui n\u2019ont pas travers\u00e9es le \u00ab&#160;plafond de verre&#160;\u00bb&#160;? Et si la litt\u00e9rature commence \u00e0 se densifier en histoire de sciences, qu\u2019en est-il dans les domaines des arts, de la litt\u00e9rature, des m\u00e9dias et design&#160;?<\/p>\n<h2>Axe 2. Figure de l\u2019autrice et construction du soi. L\u2019objectivit\u00e9 f\u00e9ministe<\/h2>\n<p>La f\u00e9minisation des fili\u00e8res en ing\u00e9nierie, m\u00e9decine, et technologies informatique et num\u00e9riques a sans doute connu particuli\u00e8rement la subdivision du travail et de la reconnaissance des recherches, les femmes \u00e9tant confin\u00e9es \u00e0 certains m\u00e9tiers consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme subalternes, quand il n\u2019\u00e9tait pas purement et simplement rel\u00e9gu\u00e9 \u00e0 des domaines administratifs, ou consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme tel<a name=\"_ednref9\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn9\">[ix]<\/a>. Les politiques globales de d\u00e9mocratisation de l\u2019\u00e9ducation dans l\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre ont renforc\u00e9 le nombre de filles et de femmes dans les sciences partout en Europe, bien que leurs carri\u00e8res aient d\u00fb faire face au plafond de verre voire \u00e0 la d\u00e9qualification de leurs m\u00e9tiers<a name=\"_ednref10\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn10\">[x]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Fee et Hilary Rose, Donna Haraway, Carolyn Merchant, entre autres, ont plac\u00e9 le d\u00e9veloppement de la psych\u00e9 individuelle dans la division du travail intellectuel dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 industrielle moderne<a name=\"_ednref11\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn11\">[xi]<\/a>. La construction historique des r\u00f4les de genre aurait accompagn\u00e9 la mont\u00e9e des \u00e9conomies de march\u00e9 modernes.<\/p>\n<p>Cette division sociale du travail a engendr\u00e9 des divisions dans le travail intellectuel et des comp\u00e9tences telles que la raison et l\u2019objectivit\u00e9 sont devenues n\u00e9cessaires pour participer aux sph\u00e8res publiques du gouvernement, du commerce, de la science et de la transmission de l\u2019information. En m\u00eame temps, le sentiment et la subjectivit\u00e9 sont devenus des comp\u00e9tences confin\u00e9es \u00e0 la sph\u00e8re priv\u00e9e du foyer et de la maison<a name=\"_ednref12\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/calenda.org\/1039325#_edn12\">[xii]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Comment d\u00e9finir un nouveau r\u00e9gime d\u2019objectivit\u00e9 f\u00e9ministe qui prendrait en compte les nouveaux mod\u00e8les technologiques, notamment en design et humanit\u00e9s num\u00e9riques&#160;?<\/p>\n<h2>Axe 3. M\u00e9diation et vulgarisation scientifique. L\u2019illustration et la p\u00e9dagogie comme leviers.<\/h2>\n<p>Ce dernier axe, outre la th\u00e9matisation qu\u2019il propose, pourrait \u00eatre un propos graphique comment\u00e9 sur les axes pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment propos\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 la rentr\u00e9e de la litt\u00e9rature graphique 2022, est parue la Bande dessin\u00e9e de Camille Van Belle, <em>Les oubli\u00e9s de la science<\/em>. Scientifique de formation et illustratrice pour la chronique \u00ab&#160;Trou de m\u00e9moire&#160;\u00bb du magazine <em>Science et Vie junior<\/em>, l\u2019autrice propose 48 portraits d\u2019hommes et de femmes dont les travaux n\u2019ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnus, ou ont \u00e9t\u00e9 volontairement \u00e9vinc\u00e9s. L\u2019ouvrage est pr\u00e9fac\u00e9 par Nadine Halberstadt, directrice de recherche CNRS en physique mol\u00e9culaire et membre active de l\u2019association <em>Femmes &amp; sciences<\/em>. Cette association, fond\u00e9e en 2000, regroupait en 2021, 420 adh\u00e9rentes et adh\u00e9rents, de nombreux partenaires institutionnels, et deux autres associations au CA&#160;: <em>Femmes ing\u00e9nieures<\/em>, et <em>Femmes math\u00e9matiques<\/em>. La r\u00e9union d\u2019un engagement associatif de promotion, valorisation et constitution de r\u00e9seau d\u2019entraide, avec celui d\u2019un r\u00e9cit graphique de m\u00e9diation, de diffusion et de vulgarisation est particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressante. Depuis quelques ann\u00e9es, les collaborations entre artistes, illustrateurs, designers et scientifiques se multiplient afin de diffuser une science dont la compr\u00e9hension la placerait au c\u0153ur de sa visualit\u00e9, et celle-ci serait un levier particuli\u00e8rement efficace et ludique pour la p\u00e9dagogie.<\/p>\n<p>Kits, romans graphiques, ateliers de fabrication, espaces virtuels immersifs et escape game se multiplient, pour informer, sensibiliser le public, notamment le jeune public, \u00e0 des enjeux de soci\u00e9t\u00e9 comme le r\u00e9chauffement climatique, l\u2019histoire mondiale, l\u2019\u00e9conomie, la politique, la biodiversit\u00e9, les droits, et la condition f\u00e9minine.<\/p>\n<p>Comment le r\u00e9cit graphique, la manipulation d\u2019objets, les espaces de fabrication qui sortent des salles de classe traditionnelles en mobilisant notamment le design graphique et la visualisation de donn\u00e9es, permettent-ils d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 des discours, et en l\u2019occurrence ici \u00e0 des discours sur la science&#160;?
