Si la terminologie utilis\u00e9e \u00e9voquait plut\u00f4t les technologies de l\u2019information et de la communication pour l\u2019\u00e9ducation (TICE), elle semble aujourd\u2019hui laisser la place \u00e0 celle de num\u00e9rique en \u00e9ducation. En effet, l\u2019approche bas\u00e9e sur la comp\u00e9tence num\u00e9rique ne se limite pas \u00e0 une approche instrumentale et la comp\u00e9tence num\u00e9rique peut se d\u00e9finir comme un ensemble d\u2019aptitudes relatives \u00e0 une utilisation confiante, critique et cr\u00e9ative du num\u00e9rique pour atteindre des objectifs li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019apprentissage, au travail, aux loisirs, \u00e0 l\u2019inclusion dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 ou \u00e0 la participation \u00e0 celle-ci (Raymond, 2019). Cependant, les probl\u00e9matiques, enjeux et d\u00e9fis semblent demeurer les m\u00eames. Si avec les TICE la focale portait essentiellement sur les outils, avec l\u2019id\u00e9e de comp\u00e9tence num\u00e9rique, le glissement s\u00e9mantique op\u00e9r\u00e9 recouvre aussi bien des technologies et leurs usages, des d\u00e9marches d\u2019enseignement, des donn\u00e9es r\u00e9colt\u00e9es gr\u00e2ce aux outils, mais aussi l\u2019usage de ces derni\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>En effet, le num\u00e9rique semble aujourd\u2019hui omnipr\u00e9sent conduisant certains \u00e0 parler d\u2019un v\u00e9ritable tsunami num\u00e9rique (Davidenkoff, 2014) voire de r\u00e9volution num\u00e9rique (Vitalis, 2015). La pervasion num\u00e9rique (Boullier, 2016) n\u2019a pas \u00e9pargn\u00e9 le champ de l\u2019\u00e9ducation en Afrique. Si la p\u00e9riode de pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19 a pu conduire \u00e0 une acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration du recours au num\u00e9rique en Afrique (Alladatin et al. 2020&#160;; Benkhalloq &amp; Samlak, 2021), il n\u2019en demeure pas moins que les usages du num\u00e9rique ne sont pas r\u00e9cents. Certaines \u00e9tudes ont pu souligner par exemple le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019un courant de la vid\u00e9oformation des enseignants en Afrique (Tomaselli &amp; Criticos, 1987&#160;; Mamour Diop &amp; Thiam, 2019), d\u2019une int\u00e9gration p\u00e9dagogique des TIC, du \u00ab&#160;mobile learning&#160;\u00bb bas\u00e9 sur l\u2019usage de smartphone ou tablettes num\u00e9riques (Kaliisa &amp; Picard, 2017) ou encore plus r\u00e9cemment une acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration du d\u00e9ploiement de la formation \u00e0 distance (Samson &amp; Lafleur, 2021). Ces diverses \u00e9volutions se sont acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9es en raison entre autres du contexte pand\u00e9mique, mais aussi de pays pr\u00e9sentant souvent des superficies vastes ou des zones difficilement accessibles. De plus, \u00e0 l\u2019heure actuelle de nouvelles technologies semblent se d\u00e9velopper en Afrique dans le champ de l\u2019\u00e9ducation et de la formation comme le recours \u00e0 l\u2019Intelligence Artificielle (Bassol\u00e9 at al., 2021) ou encore la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle (Marwala, 2019).<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019objectif de ce num\u00e9ro th\u00e9matique sera de rendre compte des divers usages actuels du num\u00e9rique dans le champ de l\u2019\u00e9ducation et de la formation dans le contexte africain.<\/p>\n<p>Diff\u00e9rents <a href=\"https:\/\/revue-mediations.teluq.ca\/index.php\/Distances\/information\/authors\">types et formats de publication<\/a> sont envisageables (article de recherche, de praticien, d\u2019\u00e9tudiant, de d\u00e9bat, etc.).
