O\u00f9 sont les informaticiennes dans les pays occidentaux&#160;? Alors que les d\u00e9buts de la profession \u00e9taient marqu\u00e9s par une relative parit\u00e9, force est de constater que sa masculinisation est \u00e9vidente, s\u2019aggravant m\u00eame depuis le d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000. Le constat est similaire dans les \u00e9tudes sup\u00e9rieures en Informatique. Comment expliquer cette absence&#160;?<\/p>\n<p>Plusieurs hypoth\u00e8ses sont avanc\u00e9es dans la litt\u00e9rature&#160;: d\u2019abord, les effets de la division socio-sexu\u00e9e des savoirs (Mosconi 1994, Collet &amp; Mosconi 2010) qui poussent les filles \u00e0 choisir des fili\u00e8res orient\u00e9es sur la relation, le soin et la communication&#160;; ensuite,\u00a0 les repr\u00e9sentations masculines associ\u00e9es aux m\u00e9tiers de l\u2019informatique (Collet 2006, Le Douarin 2007, Turkle 1988), \u00e0 l\u2019instar des figures du <em>nerd<\/em>, du <em>hacker<\/em> ou du <em>geek,<\/em> qui performent une masculinit\u00e9 centr\u00e9e \u00e0 la fois sur la technicit\u00e9 des machines et le pouvoir conf\u00e9r\u00e9 par l\u2019objet tout-puissant qu\u2019est l\u2019ordinateur, capable d\u2019auto-engendrement, entra\u00eenant des effets d\u2019homosocialit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Par ailleurs, on pourrait aussi faire l&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8se que les informaticiennes qui affirment avoir effectu\u00e9 leur choix d\u2019\u00e9tude de mani\u00e8re \u00ab&#160;normale&#160;\u00bb, l&rsquo;ont fait en estimant \u00eatre \u00e0 la fois capables et int\u00e9ress\u00e9es par l\u2019informatique. Elles ne prendraient conscience de leur \u00ab&#160;particularit\u00e9&#160;\u00bb qu\u2019une fois dans les auditoires. Leur choix semble donc guid\u00e9 par des crit\u00e8res li\u00e9s \u00e0 leurs comp\u00e9tences et int\u00e9r\u00eats, non par des crit\u00e8res de genre. Or une lecture genr\u00e9e de ce type de choix pourrait sugg\u00e9rer qu\u2019un choix \u00ab&#160;d\u00e9-genr\u00e9&#160;\u00bb est en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 le signe de ce que constitue l\u2019un des pans de la masculinit\u00e9, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire se pr\u00e9senter comme neutralis\u00e9 et universel (\u00ab&#160;l\u2019informatique, c\u2019est pour tout le monde, et donc pour moi aussi&#160;\u00bb).<\/p>\n<p>Face \u00e0 ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de masculinisation de l\u2019informatique, de nombreux acteurs institutionnels ont t\u00e2ch\u00e9 de trouver des solutions, travaillant sur de multiples campagnes de sensibilisation dont l\u2019objectif est d\u2019attirer les filles dans les \u00e9tudes en informatique. Les campagnes s\u2019adressent tant aux jeunes filles du secondaire qu\u2019\u00e0 des femmes d\u00e9sireuses de r\u00e9orientation professionnelle. Malgr\u00e9 les efforts fournis, les femmes ne rejoignent la profession qu\u2019au compte-goutte\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 ce qui appara\u00eet comme une p\u00e9nurie, force est \u00e9galement de constater que les technologies num\u00e9riques elles-m\u00eames sont \u00ab&#160;genr\u00e9es&#160;\u00bb, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire embarquent, d\u00e8s leur conception, des biais de genre (mais aussi de classe, de race, de validisme et d&rsquo;\u00e2gisme). On peut prendre l&rsquo;exemple des assistants vocaux comme l&rsquo;illustration concr\u00e8te de la reproduction des biais androcentriques&#160;: alors qu&rsquo;au d\u00e9but, ils peinaient \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre les voix f\u00e9minines, car d&rsquo;abord entra\u00een\u00e9s avec les voix de leurs concepteurs, essentiellement masculins&#160;; on remarque aujourd&rsquo;hui que certains optent pour une voix f\u00e9minine, reproduisant ici le fait que le service, la domesticit\u00e9 et l&rsquo;attention \u00e0 l&rsquo;autre sont des valeurs f\u00e9minines\u2026<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e8s lors se pose la question de la transmission&#160;: si les technologies num\u00e9riques comportent tant de biais de genre, est-ce parce que ce sont majoritairement des hommes qui les con\u00e7oivent et\/ou est-ce parce que l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation au num\u00e9rique elle-m\u00eame embarque des biais de genre&#160;? Comment comprendre les liens entre ces diff\u00e9rents constats&#160;?<\/p>\n<p>Ou encore, de mani\u00e8re plus g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, ne pourrait-on pas y voir une forme de <em>continuum des biais de genre<\/em>, traversant les diff\u00e9rentes pratiques que sont la formation\/l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation, la construction et enfin les usages des technologies IT&#160;?<\/p>\n<p>En plus des th\u00e9matiques d\u00e9ploy\u00e9es ci-dessus, les propositions de communication pourront (notamment) porter sur l\u2019un des axes th\u00e9matiques suivants&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>contribuer \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat des lieux du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne en pr\u00e9sentant de nouvelles \u00e9tudes et donn\u00e9es venant de contextes diff\u00e9rents, occidentaux et non-occidentaux&#160;;<\/li>\n<li>proposer et\/renouveler des hypoth\u00e8ses pour penser ce probl\u00e8me, en abordant les enjeux li\u00e9s aux masculinit\u00e9s (h\u00e9g\u00e9moniques, minoritaires),\u00a0 aux enjeux li\u00e9s aux identit\u00e9s LGBTQI&#160;;<\/li>\n<li>proposer et\/renouveler des hypoth\u00e8ses pour penser des solutions possibles&#160;: critique de la notion de <em>role model<\/em>, d\u00e9masculinisation des formations et enseignements, transformation des r\u00e9cits h\u00e9g\u00e9moniques de l&rsquo;informatique centr\u00e9 sur le pouvoir et l&rsquo;auto-engendrement&#160;;<\/li>\n<li>comprendre pourquoi les \u00ab&#160;choix genr\u00e9s&#160;\u00bb dans les contextes non-occidentaux permettent aux filles d&rsquo;investir le secteur num\u00e9rique&#160;;<\/li>\n<li>comprendre ce qui fonctionne et ce qui ne fonctionne pas dans les campagnes de sensibilisation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Format<\/h2>\n<p>La journ\u00e9e d\u2019\u00e9tude se d\u00e9roulera le <strong>24 ao\u00fbt 2021, \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Namur, Belgique. <\/strong>Selon l\u2019\u00e9volution de la situation sanitaire, il n\u2019est pas exclu que cette journ\u00e9e se d\u00e9roule partiellement ou totalement en ligne (le format de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement pourra alors \u00eatre amen\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9voluer). Cette journ\u00e9e d&rsquo;\u00e9tude inaugure l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00c9t\u00e9 de la Facult\u00e9 d&rsquo;Informatique, consacr\u00e9e cette ann\u00e9e au genre dans l\u2019\u00e9ducation au num\u00e9rique, durant laquelle interviendront des acteurs des secteurs associatifs, militants et de l&rsquo;enseignement.<\/p>\n<h2>Modalit\u00e9s de contribution<\/h2>\n<p>Les propositions de communication devront comporter le titre de la communication, le statut et l\u2019institution de rattachement de la\u00b7du communicant\u00b7e, une adresse email, ainsi qu\u2019un r\u00e9sum\u00e9 exposant la question trait\u00e9e et les mat\u00e9riaux utilis\u00e9s (<strong>entre 250 et 400 mots<\/strong>).
