L\u2019animateur d\u2019Antenne 2, en smoking et n\u0153ud papillon, a pour invit\u00e9 Michel Serrault qui apporte, avec son humour d\u00e9cal\u00e9, un peu de fantaisie \u00e0 une \u00e9mission aux rouages bien huil\u00e9s. Dans le public, on distingue un parterre de quinquag\u00e9naires en costume, de femmes en tailleurs ou tenues de soir\u00e9es. Puis, le duo annonce le groupe qui s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 jouer sur le plateau de l\u2019\u00e9mission&#160;: \u00ab&#160;Boys don\u2019t cry, The Cure&#160;!&#160;\u00bb. La cam\u00e9ra se concentre d\u00e9sormais pour presque trois minutes sur quatre jeunes gens, cheveux longs ou\/et hirsutes, en robes longues aux motifs champ\u00eatres, les \u00e9paules plus ou moins d\u00e9nud\u00e9es, le rouge \u00e0 l\u00e8vres mal pos\u00e9, qui s\u2019agitent un peu en vain avec leurs guitares et batteries, pour interpr\u00e9ter le titre annonc\u00e9. Retour sur le public \u00e0 l\u2019issue de cette performance incongrue dans une \u00e9mission plut\u00f4t coutumi\u00e8re de chanson fran\u00e7aise et de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s&#160;: applaudissements. Rest\u00e9e dans les m\u00e9moires, la s\u00e9quence est un moment d\u2019incursion des musiques amplifi\u00e9es dans un media de masse. Ces trois minutes de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision publique ne nous disent-elles pas \u00e0 quel point ce qui \u00e9tait jusqu\u2019alors d\u00e9volu au lectorat de la presse magazine musicale s\u2019est empar\u00e9 de m\u00e9diations \u00ab&#160;grand public&#160;\u00bb au cours de cette d\u00e9cennie charni\u00e8re&#160;?<\/p>\n<p>A l\u2019instar des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s contemporaines occidentales, la presse musicale a pris un coup de jeune \u00e0 l\u2019aube des ann\u00e9es 1960, lorsque les musiques amplifi\u00e9es, pris\u00e9es des <em>teenagers<\/em>du baby-boom, se popularisent. Voici un nouveau march\u00e9 auquel elle doit s\u2019int\u00e9resser. \u00c0 l\u2019heure des masses, elle affirme sa centralit\u00e9, m\u00e9diation incontournable destin\u00e9e \u00e0 un public de plus en plus large et transg\u00e9n\u00e9rationnel. Les grands magazines de la presse musicale \u2013 <em>Rolling Stones<\/em>aux Etats-Unis&#160;; le triptyque <em>NME\/MM\/Sounds<\/em>en Angleterre ou le bin\u00f4me <em>Rock&amp;Folk<\/em>et <em>Best<\/em>en France \u2013 d\u00e9di\u00e9s aux musiques amplifi\u00e9es contribuent \u00e0 la construction de la figure du <em>rock critic. <\/em>\u00c0 leur c\u00f4t\u00e9, des publications approchent le m\u00eame objet par un autre angle&#160;: celui de l\u2019\u00e2ge, du genre, de la pratique instrumentale, ou du mat\u00e9riel technique. Le moment punk, quant \u00e0 lui,propose \u00e0 toutes et tous de participer et d\u2019investir cette m\u00e9diation sp\u00e9cifique&#160;: la presse alternative prend un essor in\u00e9dit et rend poreuses les fronti\u00e8res entre journalistes professionnels et amateurs.<\/p>\n<p>De l\u2019explosion des radios libres aux magazines en ligne, la presse musicale appara\u00eet aujourd\u2019hui comme un objet d\u2019histoire en devenir. Vingt ans apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9but du deuxi\u00e8me mill\u00e9naire, cette courte s\u00e9quence fondatrice, m\u00e9rite d\u2019\u00eatre actualis\u00e9e et prolong\u00e9e&#160;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Entre les supports de presse historiques dont la publication se poursuit au gr\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9volutions parfois importantes et ceux dont la trajectoire fut \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re, de quelles traces disposons-nous pour mener \u00e0 bien ce projet&#160;? Les fonds, leur abondance, leur mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9, leur int\u00e9r\u00eat peuvent susciter une premi\u00e8re s\u00e9rie de contributions.<\/li>\n<li>Un deuxi\u00e8me axe se propose d\u2019interroger les processus de production et les profils d\u2019acteurs de la presse magazine musicale. Le fanzinat a-t-il transform\u00e9 la figure du <em>rock critic&#160;? <\/em>Quelle place dans ces supports de presse qui se d\u00e9finissent autant par le texte que par leur iconographie pour les <em>rock critic <\/em>ou photographes, <em>a fortiori <\/em>quand ce sont des femmes&#160;? Qu\u2019en est-il des fronti\u00e8res, des passerelles entre sph\u00e8res amateures et professionnelles&#160;? Comment leurs contenus se sont-ils adapt\u00e9s dans un contexte de segmentation accrue du march\u00e9 propice \u00e0 la multiplication du nombre de titres&#160;? Quelle pertinence \u00e0 utiliser les traditionnelles cat\u00e9gories de genres musicaux \u00e0 l\u2019heure de la globalisation et des mutations technologiques&#160;?<\/li>\n<li>Le dernier axe se consacre \u00e0 la place de la presse magazine musicale dans les m\u00e9diationsconsacr\u00e9es aux musiques amplifi\u00e9es. Que reste-t-il de ses liens avec la jeunesse ou de ses tonalit\u00e9s contestataires voire subversives depuis l\u2019explosion des radios libres et l\u2019apprivoisement de ces musiques par les m\u00e9dias audiovisuels&#160;? Quels nouveaux \u00e9quilibres se mettent en place entre le support papier et la presse d\u00e9mat\u00e9rialis\u00e9e&#160;?
