La cr\u00e9ation de grands conglom\u00e9rats, la r\u00e9organisation de ce secteur sous l\u2019\u00e9gide des puissants investisseurs, la conqu\u00eate de nouveaux publics li\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019ouverture de nouveaux march\u00e9s, notamment en Chine, t\u00e9moignent de cette expansion. Le commerce du luxe est aujourd\u2019hui celui qui engendre les profits les plus spectaculaires, et il a connu ces vingt derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es une croissance exponentielle. Le luxe semble incarner le triomphe du mat\u00e9rialisme, avec l\u2019exaltation et l\u2019ostentation de la richesse. Au luxe, on associe la d\u00e9pense, l\u2019exc\u00e8s, la transgression. Une autre composante du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne, c\u2019est la raret\u00e9. Le fait d\u2019\u00eatre devenu une industrie de masse menace en permanence de mettre en cause cette valeur de raret\u00e9. La mondialisation du luxe induit une tension entre des formes d\u2019uniformisation et la r\u00e9\u00e9mergence d\u2019un registre de diversit\u00e9 th\u00e9matis\u00e9 par les acteurs en termes de patrimoine, d\u2019identit\u00e9, d\u2019authenticit\u00e9, de savoir-faire sp\u00e9cifiques. La relation complexe entre \u00e9litisme et banalisation est aussi un moteur de r\u00e9invention permanente qui caract\u00e9rise le luxe.<\/p>\n<p>Le luxe ne se donne pas seulement \u00e0 voir \u00e0 travers un univers d\u2019images et de symboles. Il produit en permanence sa propre r\u00e9flexivit\u00e9 dans le r\u00e9cit qu\u2019il tisse autour de ses productions. Ce r\u00e9cit s\u2019inscrit dans un ensemble beaucoup plus large de repr\u00e9sentations qui s\u2019attachent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat du monde, au statut de la personne, aux rapports entre nature et culture, et qui constituent l\u2019anthropologie spontan\u00e9e partag\u00e9e par les producteurs et les consommateurs de cette cat\u00e9gorie de biens. En ce sens, loin d\u2019\u00eatre une bulle imperm\u00e9able aux \u00e9volutions du monde, le luxe qui alimente en permanence l\u2019imaginaire social, se trouve en r\u00e9sonance avec l\u2019histoire et les changements contemporains.<\/p>\n<p>Dans la p\u00e9riode r\u00e9cente, tout particuli\u00e8rement, la crise \u00e9cologique et la crise sanitaire am\u00e8nent \u00e0 remettre en cause tout \u00e0 la fois les effets d\u00e9l\u00e9t\u00e8res de la mondialisation du luxe tant sur le plan de la circulation que de la consommation des produits, et plus profond\u00e9ment le rapport humains\/nature qui caract\u00e9rise cette industrie. On voit \u00e9merger un nouveau r\u00e9cit du luxe mettant au premier plan la question de la survie et la valeur de durabilit\u00e9. Longtemps associ\u00e9 au faste et \u00e0 l\u2019ostentation, le luxe s\u2019inscrit dans une tendance <em>care green <\/em>qui consiste \u00e0 prendre soin de soi et de la nature. Un peu partout de nouvelles initiatives s\u2019inscrivent explicitement dans ce changement de paradigme. Elles ont trait aux savoir-faire, \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019authenticit\u00e9, \u00e0 un souci de relocalisation, \u00e0 l\u2019exigence de transparence et de tra\u00e7abilit\u00e9, \u00e0 la remise en cause de certaines exc\u00e8s (la multiplication des <em>fashion weeks<\/em>), \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019une meilleure harmonie avec le cosmos.<\/p>\n<p>Li\u00e9 \u00e0 cet argument g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, cet appel \u00e0 contribution porte sp\u00e9cifiquement sur deux th\u00e8mes&#160;:<\/p>\n<p>1) l\u2019un concerne les objets, et plus particuli\u00e8rement le type de trajectoires qui en fait des objets de luxe ou, \u00e0 l\u2019inverse, les am\u00e8ne \u00e0 perdre cette qualification. Cela met en jeu la question de l\u2019historicit\u00e9, mais aussi de la circulation des objets. Une approche historique et\/ou ethnographique serait la bienvenue.<\/p>\n<p>2) l\u2019autre th\u00e8me a trait \u00e0 une question tr\u00e8s actuelle, celle de la fascination des jeunes pour les marques et du rajeunissement spectaculaire de la client\u00e8le des industries du luxe.
